BIOGRAPHY
Arlen Specter is a former US Senator from Pennsylvania. Specter was a Democrat, but joined the Republican Party from 1965 to 2009. On April 28, 2009, Specter surprised the public by announcing that, after 44 years was elected as a Republican, he switched to the Democratic Party membership First elected in 1980, he representing his country for thirty years in the Senate. Specter is a lurking place in the moderate political center.

Arlen Specter Born February 12, 1930 in Wichita, Kansas, from Russian immigrants and Harry Lillie Shanin Specter. The youngest of four children studying at the University of Oklahoma. He then moved to the University of Pennsylvania, where he became a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He majored in International Relations, and graduated in 1951. After receiving a bachelor's degree, Specter joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War, 1951-1953.

Upon their return from the task of defending the nation, Specter entered Yale Law School to study law.
